As we all know that in Buddhism, they believe in reincarnation. According to Buddhist theory, all people (including family member, friends, etc.) we meet in this life might have some kinds of relationships with us in the past lives. People come to us as a result of what we have done to them (either repay or revenge). This explains why we would have different feelings toward different people. Also, according to the cause and effect theory taught by the Buddha, the well-being of a person (including intelligence, appearance, health & wealth, etc) are determined by how much good things they have done in the past. This explains why some people are better off than the others. We keep reincarnating for thousands of years and suffer all the time (birth, aging, sickness and death, being separate from our love one, etc) each time. That’s why the Buddha come to us and teach us ways to get out of reincarnation.
Buddhism provides the solutions to get all kinds of suffering from all kinds of beings and get out of incarnation (no birth, aging, sickness and death) and finally attain Buddhahood. The Buddha taught us all beings are the same as Buddha – An enlightened person with perfect compassion (highest character) and wisdom. A Buddha has no suffering and does not need to reincarnate again. The difference between Buddha and other beings are that other beings have craving, aversion, ignorant, attachment, afflictions, erroneous view that we create bad karma and keep reincarnating as a result of incurring many sufferings. The Buddha taught us thousands of method to attain Buddhahood. These methods teach us how to stop creating bad karma (karma means action performed by us that have effect on our future) by correcting our mind, speech and action, eliminate bad karma, create good karma and get out of reincarnation (no birth, aging, sickness and death). These methods are not only for human but are for all beings in the universe. His role in Buddhism is like a teacher and he teaches us how to attain the final goal which he had gone through the process. Examples of methods are Buddha name and sutra recitation, meditation, freeing animals/seafood back to the nature/sea, etc.
